Primary Location: Remote US

Reports to: Vice President Manufacturing - Sulphur Products

Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 + Bonus + Benefits

The range shown reflects the targeted pay scale. Actual pay within the range depends on work location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. Specific salary details can be discussed during the hiring process. Posted compensation reflects base salary only and excludes bonuses, benefits, pension contributions, and other incentives.

Scope of the position

The SPPC Quality Manager is responsible for improving the quality systems at the facilities within the SPPC businesses, including the implementation and execution of activities required to ensure all products adhere to internal and customer quality requirements across Chemtrade's manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing and executing world-class quality systems, driving continuous improvement, fostering a culture of excellence, reductions of risk, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance operational performance.

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Engage with site leadership on customer complaints to ensure timely, effective closure to improve customer experience
  • Lead and manage the nonconforming product process and ensure all quality processes are clearly defined and implemented. 
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for critical customer returns and complaints
  • Improve document control system and CAPA system and evaluate implementation of LIMS system at sites
  • Standardize testing requirements across seven merchant/regen sulfuric acid manufacturing facilities and the Customer Service Centers (CSC).
  • Develop and maintain quality metrics to improve performance on internal and external defects
  • Manage and investigate customer complaints from partner acid suppliers, terminals, and customer service centers
  • Develop and formalize product specifications and centralize customer specifications to ensure facilities can meet all necessary requirements
  • Support alignment of product specifications with SAP product codes to improve efficiency off supply chain
  • Support and provide site training for quality system requirements and implementation based on customer requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies, resulting in measurable cost savings and defect reduction.
  • Facilitate and develop internal process audits and support external customer audits, ensuring full compliance and readiness. ·Support the design and execution of training programs to ensure quality system knowledge and compliance across all staff levels.
  • Review of current quality standards and policies for accuracy and improvement. Train team members on how to write a robust procedure that meets ISO 9001:2015 requirements and customer requirements.
  • Manage records of quality reports, statistical quality reviews, and relevant documentation for customer feedback.
  • Support site training for quality system requirements and implementation based on customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Tools to perform statistical data analysis.

Experience and Education

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Prefer Engineering, Science, Chemistry, or Manufacturing.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in quality leadership roles in complex, regulated manufacturing environments
  • Minimum 5-10 years chemical industry experience preferred
  • Food grade products experience a plus
  • Supplier Quality Management Program Development and maintaining Experience
  • Excellent knowledge of quality management systems and processes,
  • Strong customer focus, including leading customer resolution.
  • Direct Chemical Manufacturing experience a plus
  • A Keen eye for detail and a result driven approach.
  • Excellent team management, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Experience using Microsoft office tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Automate
  • Kaizen, Quality System Six Sigma yellow belt or Green Belt a Plus
  • Proven ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification a plus
  • Supplier Quality Management Experience
  • Experience Developing a Document Control System
  • Must be highly organized, possess strong attention to details and lead a team of inspectors.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. Detailed-oriented with a commitment to quality.
  • Experience in deploying and managing document control systems and quality data platforms. · Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Power BI, and quality data visualization tools.
  • Competent in problem solving and multitasking, self-motivated.
  • 5S implementation experience a plus.

 

Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels and drive cross-functional initiatives. Follow and instill good Safety Practices in accordance with assigned objectives
