Compensation: $28.00/hr

About This Role and You
As a Maintenance Mechanic Co-op, you will support our maintenance team in performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repair work on equipment and systems used in a manufacturing environment. This hands-on opportunity is designed to help you apply your classroom knowledge in real-world settings while gaining valuable experience with industrial mechanical systems.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Millwright, or a related technical field.
Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in industrial maintenance.
Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take direction from experienced team members.
Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical systems.
Ability to work safely in a team-oriented environment.
Strong communication and time management skills.
Comfortable working in a physically active role and in an industrial setting.
Responsibilities
Assist in performing maintenance and repair of equipment including pumps, conveyors, fans, valves, and basic piping systems.
Help conduct inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
Shadow experienced mechanics and participate in troubleshooting mechanical and facility equipment issues.
Support inventory tracking of maintenance tools and spare parts.
Learn to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
Assist with documenting maintenance activities in our computerized maintenance system (CMMS).
Participate in safety and maintenance training programs.
Observe and follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Operate tools and equipment under supervision, including forklifts and lifts (training provided).
Perform general shop and facility upkeep tasks as assigned.
