Position: Mechanical Engineering Co-op
Primary Location: Cairo, OH
Schedule: Full time hourly
Reports To: Plant Manager

 

Compensation: $22 - $29 per hour. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process.

About This Role and About You

 

This position is directly involved in assisting the engineering team at the Cairo plant with their daily activities. The primary focus of the co-op will be plant reliability with an emphasis on safety, process improvements, documentation, and small project management. The Co-op will also be responsible to provide laboratory coverage as needed, in the lab technician’s absence.

 

We are looking for a Co-op Student to join our maintenance team at our Cario OH, Ultrapure Acid Plant. Overtime hours may be necessary during on site work.

 

You must be a student currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding, upholding, demonstrating, and improving the Chemtrade safety culture
  • Working side by side with our engineering team, plant employees and other contractors collecting plant data
  • Prepare critical equipment lists for various plant site
  • Develop critical spare parts list for various sites
  • Assist with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis if needed

Qualifications

  • Education:  2nd/ 3rd Year Chemical Engineering Student

  • Minimum GPA: 3.0 / 4.0

  • Knowledgeable in Mechanical Engineering principles
  • Duration: Must be available to complete 2 rotations

  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to use Excel to, sort, review, edit, and other functions
  • The ability to collect and organize data from multiple sources     
  • P&ID understanding
  • The ability to travel to our facilities within the U.S.
  • The ability to manipulate data with accuracy and focus
