Position: Rail Loader

Primary Location:  Toledo, OH

Schedule: 3:30-11:30pm M-F

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Compensation:  $41.80/hr, non-exempt

 

Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly  rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate  for new hires for the position.   Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process, as some facilities are subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements.   Please note that the compensation details listed in the US roles postings reflect the hourly rate only, and do not include benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives such as overtime and shift premiums.

About This Role and You

 

Rail Loaders at our Toledo Sulphuric Acid Plant safely unload & load rail cars and ensure the cars are suitable for transportation outside the facility.

 

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent education required.
  • Previous Maintenance experience desired.
  • Must have an understanding of units of measure and weight and perform conversions.
  • Computer Skills – Windows Operating System and Word/ Excel Programs.
  • Must possess excellent attention to detail.
  • Must be capable of spending long hours outdoors on your feet and occasionally work in protective clothing and equipment such as: acid suits, rain suits, self-contained breathing apparatus, face shields, hoods

Medical Requirement

 

Chemtrade is committed to the safety and health of its employees and the public. All employees are required to complete and pass their annually held medical assessments, including but not limited to the Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and the ability to wear a respirator as a condition of employment

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment

 

  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:   Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision. Must be physically capable of spending long hours outdoors and occasionally work in protected clothing and equipment. Ability to climb stairs and ladders (including vertical).

 

 Responsibilities

  • Follow all Chemtrade facility and corporate Environmental Health and Safety procedures and practices.
  • Participate in job safety analysis activities.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing rail cars for suitability for loading and shipping.
  • Unload and load rail cars as directed.
  • Call in to loading rack and request removal of cars from rack.
  • Fill out required paperwork for loading and inspecting of rail cars.
  • Perform routine maintenance of Unloading/ Loading equipment and rail cars.
